I am single in a “strange land,” so to speak – the land of being in my mid to late 20s, the land where all but one of my friends is married, the land where many of my friends have kids.  But there’s another strange aspect to my land…I am a stranger in this world, as my home is in Heaven (see 1 Peter).  This is a record of my life, the mundane and the divinely inspired.  I am a daughter, an aunt, a friend, a sister…I am a child of God.

About the verse:  Hebrews 11:13-14 says of the “giants of the faith” that “all these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.  For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.”  I want to make it clear that I am seeking my true home!
